On Jul-8, the USAID SEED COR, along with SEED staff visited the SEED-supported Business Development Services (BDS) Center, Ibn Souq, in Menoufia. During the visit, the USAID and SEED teams received a guided tour of the venue and were introduced to the business model, current portfolio of clients and services, as well as to the Center’s sustainability and expansion plans.
The BDS Center is a youth-run and youth-focused private sector entity established within Al-Makan, a private co-working, training and entrepreneurship space. Following USAID SEED’s Technical Assistance support, Ibn Souq BDS has started serving more SMEs in multiple sectors in governorates, and providing customer-centric, customized BDS to its clients.
The main services provided by the BDS include technical and business training for micro and small enterprises; digital and offline marketing; financial management capacity building; and coaching and advisory services. Since its establishment in Nov-2018, the Center has served over 38 clients of which 64% are female enterprise owners and 33% are under the age of 29 years.
